NUTRITION, HEALTH AND WELLBEING
Over the years, evidence has been documented on the strong relationship between nutrition and health and wellbeing. Eating a BALANCED diet is essential for good health and wellbeing. An unhealthy diet can be a major risk factor in illnesses and disease including,
- cardiovascular diseases and stroke,
- Type 2 diabetes,
- some cancers,
- gall bladder diseases,
The purpose of a nutritional assessment is to examine and evaluate an individual’s food and nutrient intake in order to establish their nutritional status.
At your assessment data will be collected including
- Height, Weight, BMI, Body Fat%
- Blood Pressure
- Spirometry test if necessary
- Medical and Family History
- A full dietary assessment
- You may be advised to visit your GP for further investigations or laboratory tests.
Following your initial consultation you will be given a tailor made plan by Jill Maynard, Clinical Exercise Physiologist/Nutritionist, according to your nutritional assessment, lifestyle and health. You will be advised on how to consume a healthy balanced diet, and change lifestyle behaviours, in order to help you achieve optimal health.
